Test scores depend on knowledge and strategies. LearnAbility's program builds success by starting in advance to allow time to reinforce weak areas and practice taking tests. Each student's previous score reports, practice testing, and grades are analyzed to see which areas need particular attention. Then, LearnAbility instructors work with the student to strengthen his or her knowledge of the subject matter. At the same time, the student receives instruction in test taking strategies, and instructors closely monitor the student to make sure that the strategies are consistently applied such that they become strong test taking habits.

To realize a significant difference in a particular section of the test, a student needs at least 10 hours of instruction. Twenty hours of preparation usually results in a 100 point increase in the section for the SAT score or a 1 point increase in the section for the ACT score.
