Welcome to LearnAbility.
The instructors at LearnAbility use a variety of strategies to teach students to organize themselves, work independently, and improve their grades. Some of the methods used at LearnAbility include
- Making individualized plans daily for each subject based on information available from schools' websites, students' planners, and, when applicable, teachers themselves.
- Providing each student with his or her own office to allow students to experience an appropriate study environment by minimizing distractions and ensuring the presence of proper study implements such as writing utensils, dictionaries, desks, and proper lighting.
- Providing structure to studying by requiring the student to have a set time and location for his or her studying.
- Facilitating the students' ability to increase the length of time for which he or she can maintain on-task behavior.
- Identifying and implementing strategies commensurate with academic diagnosticians' recommendations.
LearnAbility instructors provide added value to the program in various ways. For example, our instructors keep abreast of methodologies for affecting behavioral change as presented in contemporary literature about reaching students with learning differences. Also, due to the amount of time students spend at LearnAbility, instructors develop in-depth knowledge about the individual student which is proactively shared with appropriate, interested parties. Furthermore, our instructors have experience with the common ploys students use to avoid work and success. This experience, coupled with strategies to change behavior, provide the student with enhanced ability to increase his or her performance. |
